SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Today is "Hunger Action Day" in South Dakota, part of effort this month to raise awareness about food insecure residents.
Jennifer Stansaas with Feeding South Dakota says Falls Park will be lit tonight with the official color of hunger.
Stensaas says the Falls will be bathed in orange. She says its a real brilliant orange color that's never been used at the Falls before.
One in 8 people in South Dakota struggle with hunger and one in five children don't know where their next meal will come from.
September marks the fourth year the Feeding America network of food banks has organized this event and Feeding South Dakota has participated since the beginning.
