SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The National Tour of "The Book of Mormon" will play seven shows next year at the Washington Pavilion and officials expect every show will sell out.
Director of Public Relations, Michele Wellman, says tickets go on sale to the public Friday morning at 9:30.
Wellman says the story centers on two, very young, Mormon Missionaries who go overseas to help developing countries. She says the story can jar the senses but is very funny. She advises those who are unfamiliar with the musical to do some homework and become familiar with the story.
The Book of Mormon won nine Tony Awards including Best Musical.
Meanwhile...70 new vendors will set up shop for Saturday's 53rd Annual Sidewalk Arts Festival in downtown Sioux Falls.
Wellman, says there will be a total of 300 fine art, folk art, craft and food booths selling their wares from nine to five.
She says the Art Festival is a great opportunity to engage in people watching because she says attendees are fun, interesting folks.
Sidewalk Art Festival is a fundraiser for the Pavilion's Visual Art Center and is the region's largest one-day arts festival.
Festival hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's on streets surrounding the Pavilion: Main and Dakota Avenues between 10th and 12th Streets, 11th Street fronm Main west to Minnesota Avenue and in the parking lots south of the Pavilion.
