SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Groundbreaking for the five-story tall Arc of Dreams over the Big Sioux River in downtown Sioux Falls is set for September 28.
Downtown Sculpture Walk Director Jim Clark says there is a very good reason why the stainless steel Arc won't meet in the middle.
"It's about the leap of faith people have to take to leap into their dreams, to accomplish their dreams and often it is not an easy task," Clark tells KELO Radio News. The Arc will symbolize all the dreamers past and present who helped make Sioux Falls and South Dakota what they are today.
Clark hopes that the $1 million dollar sculpture will become as big an icon of the city as the Falls themselves. He wants to thank all the community groups and private donors who have made the dream of the Arc a reality
The Arc was designed by South Dakota Artist Laureate Dale Lamphere.
