SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Temperatures will take a dive today and tomorrow as a cold front moves through.
Acting state climatologist Laura Edwards says in some parts of South Dakota highs will struggle to get into the 70's.
Edwards says nice, cooler air is following hot, muggy, midweek weather and she says the extended forecast calls for below normal temperatures into the next week and a half.
Edwards says fall in South Dakota is forecast to be warmer and on the wet side through October.
She says the August pattern may continue through the fall adding that she hopes it won't be too wet for the corn and soybean harvest in October.
Edwards the southern part of the state is leaning more to the wet side.
