SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A grass roots effort to rein in the federal government is making another push in South Dakota.
So far, eight states have called for an article five convention of the states to amend the Constitution to limit federal government and Regional Director David Schneider of Kansas says two-thirds of the states are needed.
Schneider says the intention of the article is to place further restrictions on the size and scope of the federal government.
He says that includes term limits on federal official and fiscal restraints on the federal government.
In the last legislative session an article five resolution passed the South Dakota House but failed in a Senate committee.
