SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Avera Health plans to build a $14 million Human Performance Center at its new campus at 69th and Louise in Sioux Falls.
Avera Assistant Vice President, Ann Heiman. says the new center will be all about the movement of the human body, so it's just not for athletes.
"Just an active person or want to stay active, there is something in this facility for you.....if you are a house cleaner or a knitter.."
The 60,000 square foot facility will house a sports medicine clinic, a modern therapy gym with an anti-gravity treadmill, Pilates equipment, isokinetic balance equipment, a gait-analysis treadmill with 3-D motion capture system, as well as an underwater treadmill and an aquatic therapy pool. A nutrition bar will be open to anyone who enters the facility.
The Human Performance Center is the third major project at Avera's new campus. Heiman says they hope to have it open in December of 2019. Also located on campus will be a surgical hospital and an addiction care center.
