SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The City of Sioux Falls will be closing the pools at the Aquatic Center starting August 20 for regular maintenance.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: Beginning Monday, August 20, 2018, the pools at the Midco® Aquatic Center will close on a staggered schedule in order to conduct routine annual pool maintenance.
“Due to the year-round operation of the Midco Aquatic Center, it is important to be able to schedule annual maintenance to keep the facility in top condition,” says Kelby Mieras, Parks Operations Manager.
The routine annual maintenance will require the pools to be drained to complete cleaning and other maintenance tasks not possible when people are using the facility.
The planned closures are scheduled as follows but are subject to change depending on time needed for maintenance:
August 20–September 3
Closed = 50 Meter Pool
Open = Recreation Pool, Warm Water Pool, and Spray Pad
September 4–17
Closed = Recreation Pool and Warm Water Pool
Open = 50 Meter Pool and Spray Pad
