Delta's scrambling to get on track

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Delta Airlines two early morning flights were about an hour and a half late out of Sioux Falls this morning after a power outage in Atlanta affected the airline's computer system.

Regional Airport Executive Director Dan Letellier advises Delta travelers to continue to check on the status of flights.

Letellier says if the whole system is delayed two or three hours, Delta will try and get caught up, and the airline will more than likely have to trim some of it's flight schedule to get going again.  He advises checking with the airline directly by phone or online to confirm flight times.

Letellier says Delta is headquartered in Atlanta and the outage must have shut down the computers and the airline had some challenges getting them back up.  He calls the event rare.
