Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – Two people were arrested and a juvenile cited after a short pursuit and crash Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of West 11th Street just after 1:30 Sunday morning. An employee of Lalibela’s Restaurant tried to intervene in a dispute, when a male involved showed a weapon and threatened the employee.
The suspect left in a vehicle, which drove by the scene while officers were there. A pursuit followed, and the suspect vehicle crashed at Indian Mound Place and Kiwanis. The vehicle continued on and hit the pergola near the Sherman Bust in lower Sherman Park. The pergola required bracing due to the damage.
Two male occupants fled the vehicle and were caught a short time later. The driver required extrication and was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Theresa Highpipe, 24 of Sioux Falls was arrested for Aggravated Eluding, DWI 1st and no Driver’s License.
Daniel Amador, 19 of Sioux Falls was jailed for Aggravated Assault and Fleeing Police.
A juvenile male was cited for curfew violation and fleeing police.
