SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Sioux Falls Regional Airport is set to dramatically upgrade its baggage claim area.
Airport Manager Dan Letellier says the 12-month project will double the amount of square footage in the claim area. And the bag belts will be replaced with a new type of carousel that allows for many more bags on the belt at one time.
Work should begin July 9 on the $4 to $5 million project. Letellier says the airport had hoped to start the project months ago.
The baggage claim area is the last section of the terminal that hasn't been expanded or renovated in the past 20 years.
"...So certainly is do for an upgrade," Letellier tells Kelo.com News.
