SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) More trails are the end goal for the FallsArea Bicyclists Sioux Falls Trail Challenge set for June 30. The event, which invites participants to ride, run or roll the entire Sioux Falls Bike Trail, is raising money for a Tuthill Park singletrack project organized by Falls Area Singletrack (FAST).

Participants get to choose their own challenge for the day and have from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. to complete the nearly 20-mile full challenge around the entire bike trail loop or the nearly 10-mile half challenge where Falls Area Bicyclists will shuttle riders back to the starting point.

Check-in starts at 8 a.m. at Remedy Brewing Company, 401 E. 8th Street, and riders, runners, and rollers can start any time between 9and 10 a.m. Energizer stops will be available around the trail and users can get a passport stamped at each one. Following, an after-party will take place at Remedy where trail users can pick up their finisher prize.

This is a family-friendly event, and there will be Strider Bike Races for Kids and other bike challenges starting at 1 p.m. behind Remedy. Individual registration is $15. Or, join FAB and receive a registration perk for the Trail Challenge. A $25 FAB membership includes free registration for this event, and a $45 Family FAB membership gets you free event registration for a user’s entire immediate family.

Proceeds from the event will benefit new mountain biking and hiking trail construction at Tuthill Park by FAST. These new trails will connect with the bike trail system.
