Sioux Falls, South Dakota: On Friday, June 1, 2018, around 10:45 p.m., a man and woman entered a store in the 700 block of West 11th Street and tried to purchase alcohol. The clerk refused because neither had any identification. The woman left the store and as the man was leaving, he pulled a small handgun from his pants then pointed the gun at the clerk.  The man stole some cigars on his way out the store. Both the man and woman left in the same car.

Through the use of surveillance video, detectives were able to identify both suspects. On Tuesday, June 5, arrest warrants were issued for the two suspects: Nur Abdallahi Absiya and Sweet Gebrmedhin Gerbregiziabher.

Nur Abdallahi Absiya is an 18 year old Sioux Falls man. He was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Aggravated Assault, and the warrant carried a $100,000 cash bond. Absiya was arrested by the Minnehaha County Warrant Task Force around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6.

Sweet Gebrmedhin Gerbregiziabher is a 19 year old Sioux Falls woman. She was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and the warrant carried a $50,000 cash bond.  Gerbregiziabher was arrested by Sioux Falls Police around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5.

Detectives discovered the handgun used in the robbery had been stolen from an unlocked car. Absiya will likely have additional charges related to the possession of the stolen handgun.
