SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- It's not every day you get flowers. Or get seated as Sioux Falls Mayor or City Councilor.
It's rarer still to get a home-grown bouquet of flowers on your first day of work as a politician.
But that's what Mayor Paul TenHaken and Councilors Janet Brekke and Curt Soehl got on their first day on the job from Councilor--and dedicated gardener--Councilor Theresa Stehly.
Stehly grew the flowers in her own garden. She gave the new public servants a bouquet of tulips, daffodils, lilacs, hyacinths, and begonias.
Stehly says, "It was a great first meeting."
