SIOUX FALLS (KELO.com) – Area firefighters had a busy Saturday.
Fire crews were called to a structure fire at 5004 W Omega Place about 8:40 Saturday morning. The home suffered heavy smoke and fire damage. No one was home at the time, but several pets perished in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
Just over an hour later, Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 1905 W 42nd Street. The fire was contained to one room of an apartment with minor smoke damage to the apartment. Everyone in the building exited the building when smoke detectors sounded. No injuries were reported.
In rural Minnehaha County, crews from Hartford, Humboldt, Crooks, Lyons and Tea responded to a barn fire.
