SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Sioux Falls Police waited out an angry man armed with a broomstick inside an apartment near East 8th and North Cleveland.
Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says the man threatened a girlfriend with the broomstick and got in a fight with another man inside the apartment. He says everyone inside the apartment, including children, eventually ran out, leaving the guy behind with the broomstick.
Clemens says he whacked and damaged furniture inside and broke some windows.
Since he had that broomstick, Police decided to wait him out. Clemens says he eventually simmered down, came outside and gave himself up.
Emmanuel Mila, 37, has been charged with simple assault domestic, simple assault, violation of a no contact order and intentional damage to property.
