SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) Sioux Falls Police are looking into an apparent homicide. Shortly before 1:00 AM Saturday, Metro 911 received a call for a cardiac arrest. Sioux Falls PD, Fire Rescue and Paramedics Plus responded to a residence on the city's northeast side, on the 900 block of East Hermosa.
The victim, a 19 year old male, was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital and was pronounced dead. While law enforcement was investigating, the circumstances were found to be suspicious. A 16 year old young man was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree manslaughter. He is jailed, and the investigation continues.
In a media statement released late Saturday, SFPD Lieutenant Dave McIntire says the fact that the investigation is active, and no further details will be available until the regularly scheduled Monday police briefing.
