SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Though the sometimes emotional Mayor didn't cry at his last State of the City Address, Mike Huether said it was difficult nonetheless.
"I think the people of Sioux Falls and South Dakota they know know how much I relish this job, I love this job," Huether said. "It's been a dream come true. Having it be the last of anything is hard for this Mayor Mike guy."
Besides being an avid tennis player, Mayor Mike Huether is also a dedicated runner. He uses a running analogy about his goodbye tour over the next month and a half.
"I've been doing things like meeting with the city employees, the departments, service organizations, and yes, the citizens of Sioux Falls," Huether said. "I don't have long to serve. and I'm sprinting to the end."
A new mayor will take office May 15th.
