Sioux Falls turns the calendar back to 1945 tonight with the Commemorative Air Force’s World War II-themed hangar dance at Maverick Air Center.
Organizer Rick Tupper says the hangar will be transformed into Joe Foss's Pacific Marine squadron headquarter complete with a P-X, dance band and World War Two aircraft.
Tupper says there will be a four-engine B-17 bomber on down to one of the rarer British Spitfires. He says if you want to see World War Two aircraft you'll want to go to the hangar dance. The dance is a fundraiser for the Commemorative Air Force that helps to keep the warbirds flying.
The dance is from 7 to 11 tonight and is the kickoff to the Sioux Falls Air Show Saturday and Sunday.
Maverick Air Center is on the northwest corner of the Sioux Falls Regional Airport near the South Dakota Army National Guard armory.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door
