SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Feeding South Dakota has collected 6,480 eggs from Dakota Layers, a big egg operation near Flandreau.
Every time the South Dakota State basketball teams made a free throw at Frost Arena this season, Dakota Layers donated a dozen eggs. 471 free throws were made, resulting in 540 needy families getting a dozen eggs.
Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen says that Dakota Layers has donated over 36,490 pounds of eggs over the years.
“We are so happy to help make a difference in fighting hunger in South Dakota,” says Dakota Layers Vice President Jason Ramsdell.
