SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Yesterday KELO.com News reported that Sioux Falls School Superintendent Brian Maher never followed up with a mom who complained about the poor quality of her child's school lunch.
After airing the story, we received Facebook comments from friends of the mother, saying she had exchanged emails with Maher.
However, the superintendent never mentioned any emails to us when we followed up with him Monday...
KELO.COM News: "Anything new about the lady who was upset about the lunch. . . ?"
Maher: "I haven't had a conversation with her in quite a while."
Minutes later, Maher repeated the same thing.
"I can tell you that I haven't heard from her," Maher said.
After receiving complaints, the district contacted KELO.com News to say the superintendent did exchange emails with the mother several weeks ago.
KELO.com News spoke with Dr. Maher today and he disputes the accuracy of our reporting on this matter.
