SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Today's announcement that Sioux Steel is leaving its century-old home near Falls Park is good news.
That's according to City redevelopment director Darren Ketcham.
"This is just such a great opportunity for Sioux Falls," Ketcham said. "It's one we've been thinking about and dreaming about for a number of years."
Ketcham says Sioux Steel's plans to redevelop its nearly 11 acre site shows confidence in the city's economy.
"This is really Sioux Steel's and the Rysdon family's legacy for another 100 years in Sioux Falls," Ketcham said. "Albeit not grain bins but in a grand, grand way for thousands of people for years to come."
Ketcham adds that Sioux Steel's plans to redevelop their industrial site leaves a new legacy.
Sioux Steel will move its fabricating operation to a new location.
