SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Thousands of out-of-towners are sliding into snowy Sioux Falls, even in the teeth of another big snow storm on Saturday.
South Dakota's largest city is extra busy this weekend with lots of major events and tournaments, including Northern Sun basketball, the Sioux Empire Home Show, regional bowling, and high school wrestling.
Teri Schmidt with the Convention and Visitors Bureau is guessing that most folks will still show despite the snow.
"I'm hoping that it will not deter too many people.....Midwest tough, that's us."
If she could talk personally to everyone coming into town on the tail end of one storm and the beginning of another, Schmidt would say: drive carefully, drive slowly, and watch what the other guy is doing.
"This is South Dakota."
Sioux Falls Streets Chief Galynn Huber says his snow plows will give special attention to the streets and lots at the various events venues.
Thursday's storm dropped up to four inches. Saturday's storm is expected to add up to seven more inches.
