SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) - - At last night’s city council meeting, Sioux Falls City Councilors voted 6-1 to use $1.5 million of the $3.3 million dollar surplus to pay down debt.
Councilor Rex Rolfing cast the lone no vote.
“We’re setting the next council up for a fight somewhere down the line, because I want a bicycle trail, and another one wants an indoor ice skating rink,” Rolfing said. “As a group, I’m just saying watch it folks. Watch it.”
He said the financially prudent move would have been to use all of it for paying down debt.
