SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Paul TenHaken is a lean tri-athelete machine who says he has the right combination of youth, vigor, collaboration, experience, and ideas to move Sioux Falls forward.
TenHaken, 40, spoke to KELO.com News today in a Facebook live chat about why he wants to be the next mayor.
He says his leadership style is collaborative. He says he winces when he hears people say they want to "run government like a business." TenHaken says businesses vary in how they do things. Certainly, a "my way or the highway" approach is not how any organization should work, he says.
TenHaken is the founder of the Click Rain advertising firm, which he has just stepped away from.
He says he wants to have an "open office" and block out at least an hour periodically to meet with citizens for ten minutes a piece. He says he wants a conversation. He wants to know citizens and he wants to know the Councilors on the City Council.
Oh, and the all important question, what is his favorite Adam Sandler movie? Happy Gilmore. TenHaken says you have to love it that South Dakota native Bob Barker "beats up" the much younger Sandler with a combination of punches.
