SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Sioux Falls City Council has launched a new citizen recognition award called 'SIOUXPERHERO.'
It was Councilor Marshal Selberg's idea to recognize just everyday folks who make a difference in the community.
“I believe there are countless examples of amazing people and inspirational stories in our city,” says Selberg, “We see it in our neighborhoods, schools, churches, and in our own homes."
Additional information and nomination forms can be found at www.siouxfalls.org/myhero or by visiting Carnegie Town Hall.
Nominations that meet the eligibility requirements will be reviewed by a panel consisting of four City Council members, two Sioux Falls residents, and one City staff member who will recommend nominees to the full City Council for recognition. Once approved by the City Council, the SIOUXPERHERO will be recognized on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the start of their regular meeting.
