SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The Sioux Falls School Board has voted to accept a big, big gift from Sanford Health.

It's 35 prime acres near the Sanford Sports Complex for a new school.

Schools Superintendent Brian Maher says its a very flexible gift because construction could be for a high school, middle school, elementary, or a combination.

Accepting the big gift doesn't mean the school district is going to go right out and build. The district still has to have an outreach campaign to ask the community what should be done to help solve the problem of overcrowded buildings. A new school is just one of the options.

Sanford Health recently donated land to Lutheran Christian Schools in Sioux Falls for a new campus.
