NFL writer Peter King lingers in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS - (KELO.com) - The Minnesota Vikings' last-second victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday was no doubt a heart stopper. The playoffs bring in NFL writers from around the globe, and arguably the writer with the most recognized byline is Peter King.

Perhaps the effects of the last second played now coined, 'The Minneapolis Miracle' has stayed with King. He stuck around Minneapolis for an extra day, still talking about the amazing finish for the Vikings, sending Minnesota to the NFC Championship game this Sunday in Philadelphia.

"I've never seen a game, with so much at stake, end in such a dramatic way," King said. "When I first saw it, I thought, 'that can't have just happened."

King said that after thinking about it Sunday night after the game, he's absolutely sure this is the biggest moment in Vikings history. Minnesota has been to four SuperBowls, but have lost by double-digits in all four games.

"This franchise has had more than its share of moments that were absolutely heartbreaking," he said. "This has to be, in my mind, the biggest moment for this franchise."

King says the Vikings' NFC Championship game at Philadelphia is a winnable one, and that sets up something special. The winner of the game heads to SuperBowl 52, which is being held in Minneapolis. No host team has ever made it to the SuperBowl.

"To host the SuperBowl on your home field for the first time in the 52-game history of the SuperBowl would be just an amazing experience," he said.
