SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –F ire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning apartment fire in Sioux Falls.
Fire crews were called to 111 East 14th Street about 1:15 Sunday morning.
Crews found a small fire in the first floor hallway, with light smoke throughout the structure. The fire was put out in about 10 minutes. Fire crews removed a portion of the hallway sheetrock and ceiling below to ensure that the fire had not spread.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Residents were briefly displaced but allowed to return upon completion.
The apartment did not have a residential sprinkler system. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind residents to have working smoke detectors and a practiced escape plan in the event of a fire emergency.
