SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – Feeding South Dakota is offering a final gift matching opportunity for 2017.
The group says one in every six children struggle with getting regular meals on a daily basis. In South Dakota, they say one in every eight individuals in the state is at risk of going hungry.
Thanks to the generosity of Chris Nelson of Sioux Falls, every online donation made through midnight on Dec. 31 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to 20,000 meals. He’s been a supporter of Feeding South Dakota for over a a decade and challenges other individuals in South Dakota to take advantage of his matching gift.
“We are always so blessed by our community’s generosity during the holiday season," Feeding South Dakota CEO Matt Gassen said. "This end year matching donation means that everyone’s support goes twice as far. We really can’t say thank you enough, not just for ourselves but for the children, families, and seniors we serve.”
Feeding South Dakota’s mission is to eliminate hunger in South Dakota and is the state’s largest charitable hunger relief organization.

Feeding South Dakota has a network of over 400 charitable organizations, supporting over 555 partner agency programs across the state and is able to distribute food from distribution centers in Sioux Falls, Pierre and Rapid City.
