WATCH: Jackley and AARP versus veterans scammers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Scammers who want to take advantage of South Dakota veterans need to go through Atttorney General Marty Jackley and the AARP first.

AARP held a workshop at the VFW on South Minnesota Ave on various scams aimed at veterans and elders and how not to become a victim.

According to Jill Tyler, South Dakota AARP chapter president, scammers try to get their victims "into the ether"--a highly emotional state. She says then it is easier for the con artists to push aside a person's normal logic and good sense.

Jackley says veterans and their families are often targets because of the various financial programs they receive.

The above video also includes questions to Jackley regarding special prosecutor Rober Mueller's indictments in the Russia probe and his request of Rep. Kristi Noem to sign a "clean campaign" pledge.
