SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- By Sioux Falls standards, it was a pretty crazy crime weekend which included a deadly shooting.
First Friday evening, a man walked into a business on in the 1600 block of South Sycamore and threatened to kill people.
Wyonas Aberea Abechu, 22, from Sioux Falls, is facing terroristic threat and disorderly conduct charges after yelling he was going to kill people Saturday evening. Police say 15 to 20 people escaped from the building.
Abechu left the building, yelled more threats at people in the parking lot, then tried to re-enter the store. According to authorities, employees stopped Abechu from going back into the business. Police caught him soon after on Sycamore Avenue.
Abechu is in custody.
Sometime Friday into Saturday, two juvenile girls beat a 55 year old man on the head with their fists for an hour or two. Police say a party had taken place at the 55 year old's residence prior to the assault. About a day later, neighbors checked on the man and found him unconscious.
The man is in the hospital with a brain bleed and the girls are in the juvenile detention center.
Then early Sunday morning, a woman shot a man dead with a single round from a handgun. Police say it arose out of a domestic situation. The dead man is 34 years old and from Sioux Falls. The woman is an adult, she's not been charged, and is not in jail.
Police say they can't release many details because of the passage of Marsy's Law last November prevents them from doing so.
