SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- The shelves are nearly bare at Feeding South Dakota in Sioux Falls.
Food is dangerously low says the non-profit's Jennifer Stensaas and puts it into official lingo.
"We have reached a point of dangerous inventory depletition."
It's kind of like being between paychecks for the food provider, between the healthier shelves of summer and the pick up in donations during the holiday season. But there has also been increased demand.
"...Seeing 15 percent more guests than we did at this time last year."
If you can help with some donations to tide them over, they would really appreciate it. Stensaas says they are particularly low in cereal products and canned fruits and vegetables.
