SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Are the two local companies who were favored by some observers to win the City of Sioux Falls golf concession championship out of the running?
KELO.com News has learned that Tom Walsh's GreatLife company says it has not been invited to Wednesday's 10 a.m. news conference announcing the winner.
The Argus Leader reports that the other local company and current concessionaire, Dakota Golf Management, also has not been invited to the announcement. The Argus also reports Orion Management Solutions of Leawood, Kansas has not received an invitation as well.
That leaves Kemper Sports Management of Chicago, a former owner of the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and Landscapes Management Company of Lincoln, Nebraska as still possibly in the running, according to the Argus.
Or maybe it's all a big subterfuge.
According to a news release from the City of today, members of the secret evaluation committee are also supposed to be in attendance. The process has been shrouded in secrecy, with only the bidders and a select few City staffers knowing who the members of the evaluation committee are.
Dakota Golf Management has managed the City's three municipal golf courses--Kuehn Park, Prairie Green, and Elmwood--for two decades.
