SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Sioux Falls City Attorney David Pfeifle will be leaving his post at the end of the month.
He will become the executive director of the South Dakota Public Assurance Alliance in early November..
Pfeifle has been City Attorney for seven and a half years and was appointed by Mayor Mike Huether. Prior to his appointment, Pfeifle was in private practice.
His departure comes at a controversial time for the Huether administration. Critics have accused Huether of misrepresenting the "$1 million" "Denny Deal" settlement over warped panels on the city's Premier Center event facility.
