SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) There was a tire slashing rampage in a central Sioux Falls neighborhood Thursday night, where you usually don't hear about this sort of thing.
Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says at least 17 vehicles had slashed tires on S. Jefferson and S. Lyndale Avenues between 31st and 37th Streets.
Clemens says a man in the same area was picked up for taking property from some cars, but also had a knife on him. Authorities put two-and-two together.
"I think the natural conclusion is he's probably responsible for that. We were not able to charge him with any of the vandalism, but thats why we had so many vandalisms, a lot of those were the tires that were slashed."
Police arrested Franklin Clairmont, 22. He was charged with criminal entry of a motor vehicle.
