SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- While enrollment at South Dakota's six public universities stayed flat for the fall, enrollment really jumped at Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls.
Enrollment at the tech school climbed by 6.4 percent from last fall. The new student headcount increased by 10 percent.
“I am proud of the work our campus community has done to generate these numbers." says Southeast President Bob Griggs,:"We have incorporated new policies and events that have given new students an even more welcoming atmosphere to enjoy on our campus."
Half the state's public universities saw declines in enrollment. For example, the number of students went up a little at the University of South Dakota, but went down a little at South Dakota State University.
Bragging rights belong to Dakota State University in Madison. The school grew by 92 students, the largest increase.
