SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- She calls it a "backdoor" effort around the first and second readings process at the Sioux Falls City Council.
Councilor Theresa Stehly says last night's vote changing council seat elections from a plurality to a majority vote was not just bad government, but a personal affront.
"So, I felt it was a slap in the face, if I may say so," Stehly said. "To myself, to Councilor (Greg) Nietzert and Councilor (Pat) Starr, who were just elected with less than 51 percent of the vote in 2016."
Stehly is still trying to sort out whether she can circulate petitions to refer the measure to a vote.
