SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -- Sioux Falls Police have arrested a mother and her boyfriend for locking her 8 year-old-child in a bedroom without food, water or bathroom.
Officer Sam Clemens says the little boy escaped after 19 hours trapped in the room.
"He ended up taking a cushion and threw it outside the window. His room was on the second floor and he jumped from his room and landed on that cushion." Clemens says the boy then went to a nearby house and asked to call a relative.
The mom, Natalie Connot, 26, and her boyfriend, Jeremy Harbert, 27, have been charged with abuse, cruelty to a child. and false imprisonment.
