AMES, IA (KELO AM) Over 291,000 online votes were cast for Iowa's new license plate.
The winner is the 'City and County Reboot' design, featuring blue country and city scenes above and green space below.
The Reboot design won with 113,299 votes. Voters could choose between three designs, to replace Iowa's current plate that has been around for decades.
“Iowans made their voices heard in the selection process for our state’s next license plate design,” says Governor Kim Reynolds,"I’m glad so many were able to help select a meaningful design that should serve as a point of pride for our state and showcase our unique culture to the rest of the country.”
The new plate design will be available sometime in 2018.
