MADISON, S.D. (KELO AM) Dakota State University's first major new building in decades will be grand-opened Sunday, August 20, with a bit of mystery spicing up the celebration.
Governor Dennis Daugaard and a host of VIP's will be part of the 'Welcome to the Future' celebration for the Beacom Institute of Technology.
Dakota State is keeping everyone guessing by saying that there will be a "major announcement" made at the celebration in Madison. No leaks yet on what that major announcement might be.
Dakota State has developed a nationwide reputation in the area of cyber-security.
The special guest speaker for the celebration is Mark Ryland, Director of Solutions Architecture and Chief Architect of the Worldwide Public Sector team at Amazon Web Services.
It's going to be a big day with tours of the new building, food and a concert by country music star, Jake Owen...and don't forget that "major announcement."
