SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) - The 78th annual run of the Sioux Empire Fair starts Friday at the W-H Lyon Fairgrounds. The 10 day event has all the usual fun with a midway, food and music for a wide range of tastes...with Country's Clay Walker on the Campbell's Main stage Friday night...The Fair's Marketing and Public Relations Director Brittany Will says the event is on track for record crowds.
Whether it's the food that brings you out, the Murphy Brothers Midway rides, a Rodeo, the exhibits or the entertainment, Will says the Fair attracts crowds from a wide area. Over the past years, the event, which runs through August 13th, has drawn over 300 thousand attendees through it's run....a major economic impact. She says weather plays a major role in turnout.
