PIERRE, S.D. (KELO-AM) -- Much of the opposition to repeal of the Affordable Care Act in the Senate is due to future cuts in Medicaid spending.
Most of the reductions would be in states that expanded Medicaid under the ACA.
South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard says he doesn’t see any changes in that coverage coming in that.
Daugaard says there would be fewer people covered under the Senate proposals for a number of reasons.
Daugaard says no matter how the health reform debate ends, federal spending can’t continue on its current path.
The Senate is in the midst of a week-long debate over the possible repeal of the ACA.
