SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) Former Sioux Falls Fire Chief Jim Sideras was arraigned Wednesday on child porn charges.
He pleased not guilty and asked for a jury trial, which was tentatively set for the week of September 18.
Sideras remained tight lipped as he ran a gauntlet of reporters to get into the Minnehaha County court room.
He faces ten child porn counts - each carries a maximum of ten years in prison, if he's convicted.
The former fire chief's predicament shocked the city he served for decades when it first broke in the media in May of this year with search warrants issued for his home. The popular Sideras had announced his retirement just the month before.
