SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO-AM) -- There are no controls on how many people move into Minnehaha County or how many crimes people commit once here.
But property taxes to fund those things are limited.
Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth says the property tax freeze limits increases to 3 percent or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower.
Meanwhile, the county and crime grows.
Barth also says he isn't buying explanations for slow ambulance response times from the board that supervises Paramedics Plus.
Barth says it is unclear as to how good the ambulance service actually is.
He says small surrounding towns like Humboldt have better ambulance service than Sioux Falls.
Barth appeared on The Greg Belfrage Show this Thursday.
