DEADWOOD, S.D. (KELO-AM) -- U.S. Representative Kristi Noem or her supporters walked in 4th of July parades from one end of the state to the other.
Supporters or staff were in Kranzburg and Lennox in the east and while Noem was in Spearfish, Deadwood, and Belle Fourche in the west.
Wearing a denim skirt and red cowboy boots, Noem shook hands with parade goers and met with supporters.
She documented her walkabout on Twitter:
Feeling truly blessed to live in this country. Thx to Deadwood, Central City & Lead for ending a big day of parades right!
Spearfish always knows how to celebrate the red, white and blue. Great people in a great country. Thank you for the support!
The award for cutest supporters may go to these kiddos in Lennox!
Noem is seeking the Republican nomination for South Dakota governor in 2018.
Senator John Thune particpated in the Watertown's parade July 1 and in the Lennox parade.
(Story was corrected at 10:22 a.m. to note that Noem was not at some of the parades herself but had staff or supporters there.)
