PIERRE, S.D. (KELO AM) South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley is applauding the U.S. Supreme Court for allowing President Trump's travel ban from certain Muslim-majority countries to take effect.
Jackely says the President has extraordinary power and authority to restrict entry into the country for public safety and national security.
He says this decision protects citizens, even as it allows time to review the merits of the travel ban.
The nation's high court will review the travel ban appeal this Fall.
In March this year, Jackley joined 12 State Attorneys General and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant in support of Trump's temporary immigration policy.
