WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO-AM) -- Senator Mike Rounds has faith in special counsel Robert Mueller who is conducting the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections.
Reports out yesterday indicate the investigation has expanded to include the financial and business dealings of President Trump’s son in law Jared Kushner. Rounds was surprised to see so many leaks getting out, but that enough smoke is there now that it’s fair for Mueller to follow up. He needs to be allowed to do his work, says Rounds,
Rounds says there’s no question in his mind that Russia, from the very top, fully intended to influence the U.S. election process and that Russian officials never thought they would have a President Donald Trump.
Rounds says the Russian intent was to use that propaganda like they have for generations, but this time using the internet to damage an incoming presidency and, “that’s why the Senate approved additional punitive damages to Mr. Putin and his cronies.”
