SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) - Another scam is circulating, according to the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office.
Captain Jason Gearman is asking that you keep an eye out for threats over jury duty.
Scammers call and tell you that you missed jury duty and you need to pay the fine or be arrested. They the ask for a prepaid gift card be purchased, then give them the numbers on the card to pay the fine.
Captain Gearman says authorities do not operate in that manner, and advises that you do not give out personal information over the phone or purchase the gift cards.
