SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) Turnout for Tuesday's Sioux Falls School Board election was predicted to be in the low single digits.
The School District's Bev Chase challenged voters to prove her wrong.
"I'm predicting 5 percent today. Come out and vote and make a liar out of me." said Chase.
School Board elections have notoriously, historically low turnouts, and Chase said it shouldn't be that way.
"You send us your two most precious resources. You send us your children or your grandchildren and you send us your tax dollars."
Four candidates, Randy Dobberpuhl, Carol Robinson, Cynthia Mickelson, and Dimitrios Gliarmis, are vying for the single school board seat up for grabs.
