Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO AM) - Phil and Sandy Hamman, authors of the best-selling true crime book Gitchie Girl, will share the inside story of the 1973 murder of four teens at Gitchie Manitou State Park. Sandra Cheskey, the lone survivor of the horrific event, will attend as well.
The Thursday, June 8, 2017, 6:30 p.m. presentation at the Brandon Community Library, 305 South Splitrock Boulevard, will also focus on Cheskey’s struggles to rebuild her life emotionally and spiritually following a sexual assault that night. After publishing Gitchie Girl in January 2016, the Hamman’s book became a No. 1 national best seller on several of Barnes & Noble and Amazon’s true crime lists.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase.
